StereoPhoto Maker(SPM) functions as a versatile stereo image editor \ viewer and can automatically batch-align hundreds of images and mount them to the 'window'.
It may be run on all versions of Windows (up to Vista) and PowerPC and Intel Macs (with emulation or virtual-machine software).
It also allows users with no knowledge of HTML to create WebPages using the 'StereoPhotoViewer Applet'. You simply upload the contents of the applet-project to a Server using a freeware FTP program. More experienced users can create the entire webpage themselves or amend the file produced by SPM.

StereoPhoto Maker Ver4.34 include help file 24429KByte 10/JUL/2011
A very useful 'SPM Beginner's Guide' and 'BeginnersSPMGuideIllustrated_FujiW1_V3' has kindly been provided by David Starkman, and 'Stereo Cards(ProShow)' or 'Stereo Cards(PDF)' by David Kuntz.
- improve the algorism of Multiple Images / Auto rotation adjustment(One by one).
- Added 'Easy Create Popup Anaglyph' option in Multi Conversion. this option uses the latest setting of 'Easy Create Popup Anaglyph'.
- Added 'SWAP L/R when Interlaced mode' option in Preferences.
Added Easy Create Pop-up Anaglyph.
Added View/Save/Multi-conversion of 'Half width SBS' and 'Half height A/B'.
Added 'Half width SBS(Ctrl+Alt+F9)' in Stereo menu.
The latest release of SPM fixes a number issues including visibility of the output-file folder on 1024x600 displays and folder refresh when importing files from dual cameras configured as USB removable drives. Space or backspace refreshes the views of the folder contents. Images will be recognised as stereo pairs by auto-alignment if they share at least twenty corresponding (homologous) features.
If not, they will be ignored by Multiconversion to avoid any possible problems.
Support is provided for saving images for viewing on iPod, iPhone and Android devices with the Hasboro my3D attachment.
The left/right images are separated by a wide black region necessitated by the viewer's off-centre septum.
You may view the entire image (with black borders above and below) or precrop to maximise viewing area.
Parallel side-by-side images may be converted individually (Ctrl+J)or batches of images processed with multiconversion.
MPO files may be transmitted to the PC and opened by SPM with Fuji W1/W3 cameras using Eye-Fi Pro X2 8GB cards.
Copy an MPO file to the folder Eye-fi is using and open it to inform SPM of the folder location.
You can then use Ctrl+Alt+E at any time to display the current contents of the folder.
When running two Instances of 'Open Image file list', the combined filepaths may now be up to 255 characters in length.
SPM Ver4.32 uses a new auto-adjustment method that may provide better accuracy for images that previously were difficult to adjust.
For user-convenience, the 'File Open' dialog box may be enlarged by simply dragging the bottom-right corner of the box.
There is now an option to add stereo logos to your images, using a variety of file formats and with transparency supported.
The multiple images in the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX9 Multi-angle MPO files may be extracted to a destination folder of your choice by selecting the 'Create/Split MPO file' option in the File menu.
Sample Sony images for stereo, panorama and multi-view are displayed on the website at here.
"Flash-based slide-shows" version up(Ver1.18) (Interlace mode bug fix)
Improve 'Auto Alignment Error' problem in SPM Ver4.30.
SPM Ver4.30 fixes a bug when pasting anaglyph images from another application into SPM.
It is now possible to automatically align a series of images that are intended for lenticular prints, autostereoscopic displays, 'bullet-time' movie sequences or large-scale object-rotation movies.
If there is a common point visible in all images, it is possible to provide a 360 degree rotating view of the subject and if there are a sufficient number of images, stereo 360 degree object-rotation outdoor movies may be created.
Sample source-image files may be downloaded.
Support is also provided for creating images suitable for lenticular prints.
In Multiconversion, saving to an output folder that is in thumbnail display mode no longer causes a '$' sign to be appended to the filename.
With the 'Add Logo Image' function, you no longer have to be in 100% mode in order to select a transparent colour. When enlarging the dialog, the display is now refreshed.
When creating the files for the StereoPhotoViewer Applet (SPVA), there is now an option that will allow the website visitor to save the original image file.
For auto color adjustment, you may choose left or right image to be reference.
As well as being rotated, you may now 'flip' images in a horizontal or vertical direction.
Eight different orientation tags may be embedded in the original image file.
This allows SPM to perform lossless rotations and flips when opening the files.
The reference number of the embedded, orientation type is displayed at top-left of the thumbnail (except fot extra-large thumbnails)when the image folder is viewed with SPM's Image File List.
Update "Flash-based slide-shows".(sample page)
Bug fix SPM's EXIF info.
The latest release of SPM supports the saving and loading of images in 'LRL' format.
This is to allow website visitors the option of parallel or crossed free-viewing.
It is referred to as 'Universal Freeview L-R-L' format.
You may add a thumbnail to the saved image and also review the created image in your browser.
As usual, you may set a target file-size and the amount of image-compression.
'LRL' may also be input and/or output options in MultiConversion for batch-processing of images.
NVidia '3D Vision' is now supported.
'3D Vision' requires 32 or 64-bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7 and Intel? Core· Duo or AMD Athlon·X2 CPU or higher.
It is supported by certain 1920x1080 and 1680x1050 120Hz LCD displays and 100Hz and higher analogue CRT displays, HDTV's and digital projectors.
NVidia state that certain Quadro boards support 3D Vision with Windows XP.
The iZ3D monitor is also supported, set Dual Full-screen mode (Alt+Enter or Ctrl+Alt+Enter) to use it.
The stereo-card options 'Add Text' and 'Add Logo' have been improved so that these features can occupy their own zone (covering the width of the image) and the zone can be appended to the outside of the image or overlaid on it.
The preview image in the window may be toggled between 100% image-size or fitted to the window. If you check the option 'Enlarge this Dialog for next time' the dialog will be displayed fullscreen next time it is used.
- Flash-based stereo viewer version-up (Ver1.02 - 1.03)
Improve the loading speed of thumbnail images,Variable sideshow interval, Add prev, next, close buttons.
- Show maxmized button for Add Text and Add Logo Image dialogue.
-[couldn't read the MPO file] problem.
-hanging up while splitting a batch of mpos into jpgs.
The latest release of SPM provides support for the MPO multiple-picture format, as used by the recently-intoduced Fuji FinePix Real3D W1 digital stereo camera.
You may directly open the images (in File\Open Stereo Image) by choosing side-by-side format.
'Make/Restore an MPO file' will losslessly-extract the individual JPG images from the MPO file.
Those images can be auto-adjusted and/or otherwise processed using Multiconversion.
You can also create an MPO file from existing JPG images.
An image size of 800 x 600 pixels will display on the Fuji W1 camera and V1 viewer and minimise storage on the SD card.
Some source images (as produced by PhotoShop for example) may not display correctly on the camera and viewer.
In that case, use Multiconversion with resampling instead.
You may use Multiconversion to batch-convert MPO images to a different stereo format that enables alternative viewing methods.
If you always use the same source and destination folders, you can save time by saving your Multiconversion settings in a named file ('ExtractMPO' for example).
You may also use Multiconversion to create MPO files from existing images, as mentioned previously.
Correct "Auto Adjustment Error" problem.
SPM 4.0 is a major release that uses a new (non-SIFT) fast method of feature detection.
If your images only have horizontal and vertical 'errors', you can simply press certain key combinations to auto-adjust the current image, previous image or next image.
To autoadjust the displayed image, press Ctrl+Alt+space-bar.
To load and autoadjust the next image, press Alt+space-bar.
To load and autoadjust the previous image, press Alt+backspace.
If an alv alignment-value file already exists in the folder, its values will be used rather than computing new values.
It may also be used (as an alternative to SIFT) in the Multiconversion of a folder of images.
In Edit\Preference\Adjust, clear the entry that specifies Autopano location.
SPM will insert 'Internal code'.
SPM 4.0 also allows you to easily create Flash-based slide-shows without requiring any programming knowledge.
The slideshows may be viewed on your computer or uploaded to a website (enable Java scripting to view).
You can now create stereo snapshots (at screen resolution) of locations shown on Google Earth and optionally switch to map, terrain, satellite or hybrid map/satellite views).
SPM no longer has a virus-check function, so make sure that you only download from the official website.
The cropping problem in Vista (caused by Windows task manager)has been fixed.
Project stereo image onto a sphere.
StereoPhotViewer Applet (SPVA) has been upgraded to version 0.32 thanks to additions generously provided by Pierre Meindre :
- Added applet parameter "helpfile" for specifying the help page that will be open when the use presses the 'H' key (if not specified, the default "helpwe.htm" is used).
- Added applet parameter "charset" for specifying the encoding charset for the filelist file (i.e. UTF-8).
- Max slideshow delay changed to 99s (instead of 9s).
- Specifying a negative value to the "slideshow" parameter will do the following:
- the interval will be set (using the absolute value) but the slideshow will not start automatically.
- Correction of the encoding of the Sharp 3D mode.
- Corrections for displaying in Sharp 3D, Interlaced V and Interlaced H modes to avoid pseudoscopic effects when zooming and/or panning the image.
- Added applet parameter "language" for specifying the language used for the applet user interface.
- This parameter must be a two-letter language code like 'en' or 'fr'.
- If not specified, the applet will use the "locale" of the current java virtual machine.
- The applet will try to load the property file "spva_
- If the file cannot be loaded, the applet will revert to English.
Visit Pierre's website http://www.stereoscopie.fr/Paris/?type=4 to see an example of the applet in use.
